Ralf Wetzel

Ralf began his professional life as an electrician, delved into social work, and accidentally studied business administration. He was intrigued by social research and accumulated extensive work experience as an organizational sociologist in management and organizational science, and became managing director of a joint research and consulting group in Switzerland. 

Ralf currently works as a professor of organization and applied arts at Vlerick Business School in Belgium, where he combines applied performance with organizational theory to prepare students for high-speed and high-quality decision making in times of volatility, while discovering new ways of experiencing joy, relief, resilience, and impact. He works with companies and organizations across many different sectors, including financial services, consumer goods, retail, data analytics, engineering, and consulting. 

Ralf has been an international theatre performer, traveling to major festivals like the Edinburgh Fringe, the Brighton Fringe Festivals, and the Zagreb Clown Festival. He has been covered by the Financial Times and will soon give a TEDx talk on the contribution of the red-nose clown to leadership development. When time allows, he likes to give his own inner clown all the playground possible, which currently includes the streets and public places in Brussels, where he lives.
