Edwina’s professional journey began in the world of social services/mental health. She served as a psychotherapist and clinician to individuals in the LGBT community via the Institute for Human Identity, and to children and families struggling with adjustment challenges at the Coalition for Hispanic Family Services. Edwina discovered her passion for learning and development while working at the crisis call center at Mental Health of NYC, where she worked as a community educator facilitating workshops on mental health and substance abuse.
Edwina has taken on several roles in the L&D space, many of them centered around on-boarding, change management and professional/organizational development. Some of the agencies and clients Edwina has worked with are: CUNY School of Professional Studies, Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), Administration for Children Services (ACS NYC) and the Boeing Company. She holds a BA in psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an MA in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She holds two certifications in project management (PMP & PMI-ACP) from the Project Management Institute, and is a member of the Project Management Institute, Association of Talent Development (ATD) and the International Association for Women (IAW).
Edwina has completed over 20 obstacle course races, and earned the Spartan Trifecta in 2017. She is also oddly obsessed with baby goats, finding them adorable and mischievous, and one day hopes to own a house on a mountain in Costa Rica with a pineapple farm and dozens of baby goats.
